I am Touria Ahaouari, currently pursuing my PhD as DC5 within the DIALECT project.
I graduated from Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona) and completed a master’s degree in Technological Innovation in Health and Biomedical Engineering at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. To deepen my expertise in medical technologies and healthcare management, I pursued a second master’s degree in Clinical Engineering.
My first research experience in medical image and data processing was during an internship at the Vall d’Hebron Institute of Oncology, where I developed a project to convert pre- and post-surgical brain glioblastoma MRI images into quantitative data for assessing patient outcomes.
During a semester abroad at Université Grenoble Alpes, I was part of the project “Development of a deep learning approach for functional lung imaging based on quantitative computed tomography.” This work contributed to a paper submitted to the International Symposium on Biomedical Imaging, titled “CT registration-derived biomarkers of recruitability in ARDS.” Once graduated, I followed a Traineeship at Philips Iberia at the department of Monitoring and Analytics.
My interest in research brought me back to academia in 2023 when I started my journey as DC5.
