Onur Okcu

My name is Onur Okcu, and I am a Ph.D. candidate for the project titled “Smart wearable technology for long-term pressure, adherence, and activity monitoring.” I earned my bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and my minor degree in Industrial Engineering after graduating from Middle East Technical University.

As a result of my interest in software and optimization, I chose and then obtained my master’s degree in Automation and Control Engineering from Politecnico di Milano. The research focuses in my academic career are data-based control methodologies for linear systems. I also enlarged my knowledge regarding system identification, system modeling, optimization, data acquisition from sensors, signal processing, and artificial intelligence.

My passion for electronics (especially in sensor technology) and software development brings me to this desirable destination where I am now. Next, I will try to reveal “art in science” during my project in novel. In addition, I will proudly be a part of a network that endeavors to make diabetic foot disease patients’ lives easier and better.

In my personal life, art is my passion. Even though I love all branches of art, music, and literature are always a bit more special to me. I play some musical instruments as well.
