Sergio Catalano

My name is Sergio, and I am a PhD candidate from Sicily, Italy, focusing on software development and sensor integration. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Trento and a Master’s degree in Autonomous Systems from Aalto University.

My research focuses on assessing the reliability of sensor data for long-term monitoring of diabetic patients and the prevention of foot ulcers. I aim to identify which data is most insightful over time and to develop effective methods for measuring and communicating this information.

My professional background includes working with LiDAR technology for sensor integration and data processing in a research institute, as well as developing software for communication and control for self-driving vehicles in a startup.

In my personal life, I enjoy reading, playing guitar and swimming. I look forward to contributing to advancements in sensor technology and its applications in the biomedical field.
