The first day of the DIALECT Autumn School was an insightful start with workshops on Scientific Integrity and Open Science.
In the Scientific Integrity workshop, we discussed several key practices to strengthen ethical standards in research. Here are some critical action points:
- Explore alternative literature and methodologies, and maintain open and honest conversations with supervisors and stakeholders.
- Report thoroughly on work done, including any changes to decisions and protocols.
- Develop and report strict protocols before starting experiments to enhance transparency and reproducibility.
- Be open about study limitations and maintain clear communication with supervisors while balancing the study’s pros and cons.
